Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of osmarks (https://osmarks.com) and the osmarks Proof Page. By using osmarks, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What osmarks is

osmarks helps independent professionals prove the work they have done for clients. After delivering work, you can send your client a confirmation link. Your client confirms, in their own words, what was delivered and how it turned out. Each confirmation is digitally signed and its fingerprint is written to a public, append-only log, so anyone can verify it independently.

Your Proof Page is a public page that gathers your client confirmations, which you can share or embed on your website and in proposals.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping access to your email address secure, because we use it to sign you in. Please give accurate information about yourself and your work.

3. Free use and paid plans

  • Free: your first 3 client confirmations and a basic Proof Page.
  • Proof Page subscription: USD 9 per month, or USD 79 per year. It includes unlimited confirmation requests, your full public Proof Page, embedding, and automatic 30- and 90-day result check-ins with your clients.

Prices are shown before you pay. Taxes may be added at checkout depending on where you are.

4. Payments, renewal and cancellation

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Waffo.com Limited, which handles payments, sales tax, order-related inquiries and refunds.

  • Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the price you agreed to, until you cancel. We will tell you in advance of any price change.
  • Cancel anytime: you can cancel at any time from the customer portal link in your receipt, or by emailing support@osmarks.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid features until then.
  • Refunds: if you are not satisfied, request a refund within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. Renewals can be refunded within 7 days of the renewal date if you haven't used paid features since that renewal. Refunds are processed by Waffo.com Limited to your original payment method.
  • When a subscription ends: your existing confirmations remain yours. Your Proof Page returns to the free level; nothing that a client has confirmed is deleted because you stopped paying.

5. Honest use: what you may not do

The value of osmarks depends on every confirmation being real. You agree not to:

  • ask anyone other than a real client to confirm your work, or confirm your own work under another identity;
  • pay, reward or pressure a client to give a confirmation, or to make it positive;
  • edit, misquote or misrepresent a confirmation, or present it as covering work it does not cover;
  • use osmarks to make claims about people who did not agree to take part;
  • try to forge signatures, tamper with the public log, or attack the service.

We may remove confirmations, suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Removals are recorded in the public log as revocations; earlier entries are never silently deleted.

6. What a confirmation does and doesn't mean

A confirmation records what a named client stated, when, and how their identity was checked (for example, by confirming through their work email). It is not a guarantee by osmarks that the work was good or that every statement is true, and it is not a background check or consumer report. Anyone relying on a Proof Page should use their own judgment.

7. Your content

You and your clients keep ownership of what you write. You give osmarks permission to store it, display it on your Proof Page as you choose, and record its signed fingerprint in the public log. The public log is designed to be permanent; see our Privacy Policy for what it contains.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep osmarks available but can't promise it will never be interrupted. Signed confirmations can be verified with our open-source verifier even without osmarks. We may update these terms; for material changes we will notify you by email or on the site before they take effect.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, osmarks is provided "as is", and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
